It’s about 4AM and I’m extremely tired. I’ve had a few bouts of almost passing out but I’ve been doing my best to keep my mind and body busy. If I sit still for too long I know that I’ll be a goner in no time. So, why am I up at 4AM? I’m working the 11PM-7AM shift for the next two weeks to cover a gap in coverage. The guy that normally works this shift is having oral surgery and that pretty much puts him out of commission for a week.
By now you might be wondering why I titled this post “Electoral votes of popularity”… well, there is a reason. I was obviously bored so I started to look at my Google Analytics account and I looked at the historical data. A map view of visitors is available so that you can find out where most of your visitors come from. The data is skewed because I visit my site to make updates more often than regular visitors come to read. In other words, I am probably the biggest visitor of my own site (such is my life). So, what does this have to do with electoral votes? Well, based on the map I wouldn’t get a single vote out of 8 states while the rest i have covered. Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee, West Virginia, Conneticut, Rhode Island, Vermont, and New Hampshire users shun my website and refuse to visit. The first few states probably have no users smart enough to turn on a computer or still have no infrastructure to hook a computer into (as in the case of Louisiana - thanks Katrina!). The rest… well, I’m not sure why the NE US finds me contrite.
But here I am, calling them out to visit me…. bunch of freaking punks.
